Brent A. Parsons began serving as Pastor of First
Baptist Church in March of 2003.
Before coming to First Baptist Church, Brent served
as Associate Pastor of Evangelism and Missions at
Southern Hills Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, and as
Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Sulphur.
Brent is married to Keely and they have two children,
Hunter and Hattie.
Brent graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in
1997 with a Bachelor of Arts (Major: Religion [Bible
Emphasis] and Minor: Interpersonal Communication and
Public Speaking). Brent earned his Master of Divinity
from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in May of
2002.

Worship
Pastor

Dave Watson came to
First Baptist Newcastle as Worship Pastor in March of 2006. He
previously served churches in Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas, and
Missouri, most recently serving at First Baptist Church of Okmulgee
for almost six years.
Dave served on the staff
of Dallas Baptist University for seven years during the 1990’s and
spent several years as a music educator and professional singer
during the 1980’s and ‘90’s. He received a bachelor’s degree in
vocal/instrumental music education from Southwest Baptist University
in Bolivar, Missouri in 1983, a master’s degree in music from
Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas in 1990, and did
additional graduate study at Dallas Baptist University and the
University of North Texas.
Dave’s wife of 23 years is Diane, an accomplished pianist and
artist, and they have four children; Rachel, Jessie, Hannah, and
Joey.

Minister to Senior Adults

Troy Hoffman has
served on the ministerial staff of FBC, Newcastle since 1995.
Having formerly served as Minister of Music, Troy began his position
as Minister to Senior Adults in 2005. He has served in Southern
Baptist churches in Texas and Oklahoma since 1963.
Troy graduated in
1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree from Midwestern State
University in Wichita Falls, Texas, and attended Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary, working toward a master’s degree in
church music.
He was born and
raised in the Wichita Falls area. His wife Donna serves on the
church staff. Troy and Donna have been married 38 years and have
two daughters, Meredith and Rebekah, and three granddaughters, Cella,
Alyssa and Erin.

Youth Pastor

Beau started serving as our Youth Pastor in May of 2004. He
has served in various churches across the world including Duncan,
Laverne, Ada, and even Israel.
Beau graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in December of
1997 where he received his degree in Family Development and is
currently working towards his masters degree from Southwest Baptist
Theological Seminary.
He was born in Oklahoma and graduated from Duncan High School.
Beau was married to Heather in October of 2003. Beau and
Heather have a daughter named Madeline. Beau considers working
with youth a true blessing and has made serving youth his life's
purpose.

Children's Director

Ronda Pinkerton began serving as Children's Director of FBC
Newcastle in August 2003.
Before coming to First Baptist Church, Ronda was interim
Preschool and Children's Director at Southern Hills Baptist Church.
She has served in various aspects of preschool and children's
ministries for twenty-four years.
Ronda is married to Curt and they have four children: Luke, Zack,
Nick, and Carli, and one granddaughter, Lynzie.
Ronda graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1981 with a
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and received a
Teaching Certificate from University of Central Oklahoma in 1986.
Ronda is currently a consultant for the Baptist General Convention
of Oklahoma.

In
November 2004, Steve Buchanan began working as the Custodian at
First Baptist Church, where he and his wife, Barbara, have been
members since 1980. In addition to his maintenance work, Steve
teaches a Couples Sunday School class and has served as a Deacon
since 1988.
Prior to his work at the church, Steve served as the Postmaster in
Tuttle for 17 years and in Blanchard for six years. He retired from
the U.S. Post Office in October 2004.
Steve and Barbara have been married for 39 years and have two
daughters, Marcia Shottenkirk and Stephanie Brooks, both of Mustang.
They also have four grandchildren: Kaylyn Brooks, 7; Molly
Shottenkirk, 6; Kaleb Brooks, 4; and Jack Shottenkirk, two months.

Administrative Assistant

Alena Honeycutt began working as part-time Multimedia Secretary at
First Baptist Church in June 2003 until May 2004 when she began
working full time as Administrative Assistant.
Alena attended Oklahoma City Community College where she received
her Associates degree in Graphic Communications.
Alena is married to Eli and they have two “children”, Tucker, a
chocolate lab, and Chloe, a yorkie. In her spare time, Alena enjoys
photography, scrapbooking, decorating, and working in her yard.

Receptionist

Donna Hoffman
began serving as receptionist at FBC, Newcastle in June, 2004.
Born and raised
in the Stephenville, Texas area, Donna received her Bachelor of Arts
degree from Tarleton State University. She taught Language Arts and
English in secondary schools in central and west Texas before moving
to Oklahoma in 1995.
She is married to
Troy, Minister of Senior Adults at FBC, Newcastle, and they have two
daughters, Meredith and Rebekah, and three precious
granddaughters, Cella, Alyssa and Erin. In addition to working at
FBC, Newcastle, Donna enjoys gardening, quilting, scrapbooking and
singing with the Singing Churchwomen of Oklahoma.

Financial Secretary

Joy Burgess, a retired Economic Development Specialist for the
State of Oklahoma now serves First Baptist Church Newcastle as
Financial Secretary. Working part-time at the church leaves a
nice amount of time to keep up with her 13 wonderful grandchildren.
